Sho Gokyu's Football Journey

Sho Gokyu was born in Tsu, Japan, on June 11, 1983. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 2002.

Starting with Cerezo Osaka

His first team was Cerezo Osaka, a club in the J2 League. Even though he didn't play in any matches that year, his team, Cerezo Osaka, moved up to the top league, the J1 League, at the end of the 2002 season.

He made his first appearance in September 2003. He played a few games as a forward, but he didn't get to play much during 2003 and 2004.

Moving to Thespa Kusatsu

In 2005, Sho Gokyu joined Thespa Kusatsu. This team had just moved up to the J2 League. He played in many matches for them, but he only managed to score one goal.

Success in the Japan Football League

In 2006, he moved to a club called Sagawa Express Osaka. This team played in the Japan Football League (JFL), which is a league below the J-League. Here, Sho Gokyu became a very important player. He played regularly as a forward and scored many goals.

He was especially good in the 2007 season, where he became the top scorer in the JFL with an amazing 30 goals!

Back to the J2 League

In 2008, Sho Gokyu returned to the J2 League, joining Yokohama FC. However, he didn't get to play as much as he did in the JFL. In August 2009, he moved back to the JFL to play for FC Machida Zelvia, where he played in many games again.

Return to Sagawa Shiga

In 2010, Sho Gokyu went back to Sagawa Shiga, the team he had played for before. He continued to be a regular forward and once again became the top scorer in the JFL in 2010, this time with 27 goals!

After 2011, he played less often. His club, Sagawa Shiga, was unfortunately closed down at the end of the 2012 season.

Final Years in Football

In 2013, he joined another JFL team, SC Sagamihara. He played many matches for them as a regular forward. In 2014, he moved to FC Osaka, a team in the Japanese Regional Leagues. This club was promoted to the JFL in 2015. Sho Gokyu played his last season with FC Osaka and retired from football at the end of 2015.
