Shoji Ikitsu (生津 将司, Ikitsu Shoji, born May 20, 1977) is a former Japanese football player. He was a midfielder, which means he played in the middle of the field, helping both with defense and offense. He played for several teams in Japan during his career.

Shoji Ikitsu's Football Journey

Shoji Ikitsu was born in Fukuoka, Japan, on May 20, 1977. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 1996. He joined his hometown club, Avispa Fukuoka.

Playing for Avispa Fukuoka

Even though Shoji Ikitsu was an attacking midfielder, he did not get to play in many games for Avispa Fukuoka. He was part of the team for a few years, from 1996 to 1999.

Moving to Sagan Tosu

In July 1999, Shoji Ikitsu moved to Sagan Tosu. This club had just been promoted to the J2 League, which is a professional football league in Japan. At Sagan Tosu, he played much more often and became a regular player for the team.

Later Career and Retirement

After playing for Sagan Tosu, Shoji Ikitsu took a year off from playing games. In 2001, he joined a club called New Wave Kitakyushu. This team played in the Japanese Regional Leagues, which are lower-level leagues in Japan. He played for one season with New Wave Kitakyushu. Shoji Ikitsu decided to retire from football at the end of the 2001 season.
