Shows as He Goes facts for kids
Shows as He Goes was a brave and important leader of the Native American people, most likely from the Crow Nation, also known as the Apsaroke tribe. He lived during a time when many changes were happening on the Great Plains in North America.
Shows as He Goes was known for leading his people in battles against the United States cavalry. He fought to protect his tribe's way of life and their land as American pioneers and soldiers moved westward. Even though he became a legendary figure for his courage, by 1905, when he met the famous photographer Edward S. Curtis, he was an older man. He was one of many Native American leaders Curtis photographed, whose days of fighting in the "Indian wars" were long in the past.
