Shunda K's Latest Music
Shunda K released her EP, "The Return of Shunda K," in 2019. Her second album, "Return of The Dragon / Rise of The Divine Feminine," came out on June 6, 2022. Shunda K's Start with Yo Majesty
Shunda K began her music journey with Shon B. They formed a duo called Ya Majesty. Around 2001, Jwl B joined the group. They then became known as Yo! Majesty. In 2002, they started working with HardfeelingsUK. This London duo created electro-rap beats for them. Yo! Majesty became popular in underground clubs. They released their first official music, the Yo EP, in 2006.
Yo Majesty's Rise to Fame
Yo Majesty gained attention at SXSW in 2007. That same year, they toured with bands like CSS and the Gossip. In 2007, the group signed with Domino Records. This label released an EP and a full album in 2008. One song on the album was produced by Basement Jaxx. Shon B left the group in 2008. Shunda K and Jwl B continued to tour as Yo Majesty.
Changes in Yo Majesty
In January 2009, Shunda K had to finish the Yo Majesty tour alone. Jwl B was unable to tour due to personal reasons. When Jwl B returned, Domino Records wanted Shunda to tour with her. Shunda decided to leave the group. She then started her own solo music career.
Shunda K's Solo Music Career
After leaving Yo Majesty, Shunda K worked with Peaches. She collaborated on the song "Billionaire" for Peaches' album I Feel Cream. Shunda K also appeared in the music video for "Billionaire." She released several EPs with French producer Flore and Damp Heat. Shunda K also worked on her own album. This album was released by Fanatic Records on January 11, 2011.
Touring and New Releases
In 2010, Shunda K toured Australia. She performed at the Big Day Out festival. She also headlined her own club shows. She opened concerts for her friend Peaches. Shunda's first single from her album "The Most Wanted" was "Here I Am To Save The World." It was released on July 27, 2010. This song was co-produced by Electrosexual and Chrissy Murderbot. The second single from "The Most Wanted" was "I'm da Best." It came out on October 25, 2010. This song was special because it reunited Shunda K with Shon B.
