Shunpei Yamazaki (山崎 舜平, Yamazaki Shunpei, born July 8, 1942) is a Japanese inventor who has created many amazing things. He is famous for his work in computer science and solid-state physics. These fields are all about how computers work and how tiny materials behave.
Shunpei Yamazaki is known as a super inventor because he has so many inventions! He is listed as the inventor for over 11,000 groups of patents and more than 26,000 different patent documents. A patent is like a special license that protects an inventor's idea, so no one else can copy it without permission.
In 2005, a newspaper called USA Today said he was the most prolific (meaning most productive) inventor ever! Another inventor, Kia Silverbrook, passed him in 2008, but then Yamazaki took the lead again in 2017.
