Schirin Grace Sigrist (born on March 16, 1995), known as Shy Carlos, is a talented Filipino actress and singer. She used to be part of an all-girl music group called Pop Girls. Shy is also a VJ (video jockey) for the music channel MTV Pinoy, which means she hosts music shows.

She became very well-known for her role as Jackie Reyes in the teen romance movies Para sa Hopeless Romantic (2015) and Para sa Broken Hearted (2018). These movies were based on popular books. Shy also appeared in other films like Chain Mail (2015), Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz (2017), and The Barker (2017).

On television, she played Gayle Fresnido in Bagets: Just Got Lucky (2011–2012). She was also Maria Rosario Jonina "Joni" Quijano in Be Careful With My Heart (2014). Shy played Tasya / Princess Anastacia in Tasya Fantasya (2016). Later, she was Alon in Bagani (2018). She has also appeared in many episodes of popular shows like Maalaala Mo Kaya and Ipaglaban Mo!.

Starting Out: Early Work and Pop Girls

Shy Carlos began her career very young, appearing in TV commercials when she was just 4 years old. When she was 10, she started singing and dancing.

In 2008, she had a supporting role in the TV show Codename: Asero. She played a character called Agent Pigtails.

In 2009, Shy joined an all-female music group called Pop Girls. This group was launched by Viva Entertainment. Other members included Nadine Lustre, Rose Ginkel, and twins Lailah and Mariam Bustria. At that time, Shy used the name Schai Sigrist. She later left the group to focus on acting.

Becoming an Actress: 2011–2012

After leaving Pop Girls, Shy started using her professional name, Shy Carlos. Her first big acting role was in the TV remake of the 1984 film Bagets: Just Got Lucky. She played the character Gayle Fresnido.

During this time, she also appeared in some episodes of TV shows like Maynila and Maalaala Mo Kaya. Shy also performed on variety shows such as Hey it's Saberdey! and Sunday Funday. She later starred in the comedy fantasy series Kapitan Awesome as Dina Lang.

Shy also made her first movie appearance in the romantic drama film A Secret Affair. She played the role of May Delgado.

Big Roles and VJ Work: 2013–2016

In 2013, Shy played Bianca in the TV series Annaliza. She also appeared in different episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya and Maynila. She was part of the teen comedy show Wapak and acted in the movie When the Love is Gone as Chloe.

In 2014, Shy joined the cast of the popular TV show Be Careful With My Heart as Joni. On July 14, 2014, she officially became a VJ for MTV Pinoy.

She starred in the teen romance film Para sa Hopeless Romantic as Jackie Reyes. This movie was based on a best-selling book. She also appeared in the horror film Chain Mail.

In 2016, Shy played the main role in the remake of the fantasy-romance drama Tasya Fantasya. She played Tasya, who was also Princess Anastacia. This role had been played by other famous actresses before her.
