Schirin Grace Sigrist (born March 16, 1995), known as Shy Carlos, is a Filipino actress and recording artist. She was once a member of the all-female music group called Pop Girls.

Shy became well-known for her role as Jackie Reyes. This was in the teen romance movie Para sa Hopeless Romantic (2015). She also starred in its sequel, Para sa Broken Hearted (2018). She appeared in other films like Chain Mail (2015) and Ang Pagsanib Kay Leah Dela Cruz (2017).

On television, she played Gayle Fresnido in Bagets: Just Got Lucky (2011–2012). She was also Joni Quijano in Be Careful With My Heart (2014). Shy played Tasya in Tasya Fantasya (2016). She was also Alon in Bagani (2018). She had many roles in Maalaala Mo Kaya and Ipaglaban Mo!.

Shy Carlos is also a VJ, or video jockey, for the music channel MTV Pinoy.

Shy Carlos's Career Journey

Starting Out: Early Work to 2010

Shy Carlos began acting in TV commercials when she was just 4 years old. She started singing and dancing when she was 10.

In 2008, she was a supporting actress in Codename: Asero. She played a character called Agent Pigtails.

In 2009, she joined an all-female group called Pop Girls. This group was launched by Viva Entertainment. Other members included Nadine Lustre, Rose Ginkel, and twins Lailah and Mariam Bustria. At that time, Shy used the name Schai Sigrist.

Later, she left the group to focus on acting. Carlyn Ocampo and Aubrey Caraan temporarily took her place.

2011–2012: New Name and New Roles

Shy started using her professional name, Shy Carlos. Her first big acting role was in the TV show Bagets: Just Got Lucky. She played Gayle Fresnido in this show.

She also appeared as a guest in some episodes of Maynila and Maalaala Mo Kaya. Shy performed on TV shows like Hey it's Saberdey! and Sunday Funday. She later starred in the comedy show Kapitan Awesome as Dina Lang.

Shy Carlos also made her first movie appearance. She was in the romantic drama film A Secret Affair as May Delgado.

2013–2016: Becoming a Star

In 2013, Shy played Bianca in the TV series Annaliza. She also appeared in episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya and Maynila. She was part of the teen comedy show Wapak. Shy also acted in the movie When the Love is Gone as Chloe.

In 2014, she joined the popular TV show Be Careful With My Heart as Joni. On July 14, she officially became a new VJ for MTV Pinoy.

She starred in the teen romance movie Para sa Hopeless Romantic as Jackie Reyes. This movie was based on a popular book. She also appeared in the horror film Chain Mail.

Shy played the main character in the fantasy-romance show Tasya Fantasya. She played Tasya, also known as Princess Anastacia. Other actresses like Kris Aquino and Yasmien Kurdi had played this role before.
