Early Life and College Basketball

Sid Catlett went to DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He was a very good player in high school. In 1966, he was named a Third-team Parade All-American. This means he was one of the best high school basketball players in the country.

After high school, Sid played college basketball for the University of Notre Dame. He played for Notre Dame from 1968 to 1971.

Playing in the NBA

After his college career, Sid was chosen in the 1971 NBA draft. The Cincinnati Royals team picked him in the fourth round. He was the 55th player picked overall in that draft.

Sid played for the Cincinnati Royals in the NBA. He played during the 1971-1972 season. He appeared in 9 games for the team as a forward.

Family Life

Sid Catlett was the son of a famous jazz drummer. His father was also named Sid Catlett. Sid Catlett the basketball player died on November 3, 2017, due to health problems.
