Early Life
Sidhnak Mahar's family had a special gift from the past. His grandfather received a village called Kalambali in Satara. This gift was called an Inaam, which meant it was given as a reward for being loyal to the Peshwas (rulers at that time). Sidhnak Mahar inherited this special gift, just like it was passed down in his family.
His Battles and Army
Sidhnak Mahar was a skilled leader. He created his own group of soldiers, known as a Mahar battalion. He first offered to join forces with the Peshwas. However, the Peshwas did not accept his offer. Because of this, Sidhnak Mahar decided to join the British Army instead.
Remembering Sidhnak Mahar
There is a special place to remember Sidhnak Mahar. His memorial, called a Samadhi, is located in Kalambi village. This village is in the Sangli district. A group called the Veer Shidhnak Foundation works to help people. This foundation is run by his family members, including Abhijeet Inamdar.
A movie is being made about Sidhnak Mahar's life. It is called The Battle of Bhima Koregaon. In this movie, the famous Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal plays the role of Sidhnak Mahar Inamdar.
