Sidney is a small, unincorporated community located in Putnam County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's usually managed by the county.
History of Sidney
Sidney had a post office that opened in 1889. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This post office served the community for many years before it closed down in 1908. People believe the community was named after a local person who lived there.
