Sigma, officially known as the Municipality of Sigma, is a town in the Capiz province of the Philippines. It's considered a 4th class municipality, which means it's a smaller town based on its income.
The people of Sigma speak Capiznon and Hiligaynon. As of 2020, about 31,688 people live there. Sigma is located about 28 kilometers (17 miles) away from Roxas City, which is the capital of Capiz province.
The town's name, Sigma, comes from the legendary Datu Sikma. The Spanish explorers found it hard to say "Sikma," so they changed it to "Sigma."
