Geography
Silver Lake is about 73.2 acres (0.296 km2) in size and 1.54 miles (2.48 km) in diameter.
There are two islands on this lake. One is part of Silverwood Park, and the other is uninhabited.
Silver Lake is surrounded by St. Anthony to the north, east, and south, and by Columbia Heights to the west.
Recreation
There are two parks along this lake. Silverwood Park dominates most of the north part of the lake. Next to it is Silver Beach, which is owned and operated by the Columbia Heights Rec Department.
Silverwood Park
Silverwood is owned by Three Rivers Park District and features many activities like art classes, hikes, field trips, and more. Birthday parties and weddings can be rented here. In the visitor center, it showcases art from different people and districts. There is a trail that connects Silverwood to Silver Beach in Columbia Heights.
