Silversun is an exciting science fiction TV show from Australia. It's all about a group of young people on an amazing journey through space! The show follows the adventures of the crew of the Star Runner. This huge spaceship is carrying 550 people who are in a special frozen sleep. These "cryons" are traveling to a new home planet called the Silver Sun.

The story takes place in the year 2052. The Star Runner and its crew are two years into their very long 90-year trip. Their main goal is to safely deliver the "New Settlers" to the Silver Sun and help them start a new life there. Because the journey is so long, most of the crew members are teenagers. They are learning to fly the ship and will take over command as the adults get older.

Meet the Crew: Main Characters

Here are some of the main young people and adults who help run the Star Runner:

  • Tane Wilson (played by Thomas Blackburne): A very skilled cadet pilot.
  • Zandie Brokow (played by Cleopatra Coleman): A strong and outspoken crew member. She was one of the "cryons" who woke up early.
  • Sheng Zammett (played by Ryan Corr): A super smart cadet scientist.
  • Cinnamon Everson (played by Karli Dinardo): The young daughter of Steve and Karen.
  • Leonella Reiss (played by Cherise Donovan): A cadet medical officer and daughter of Lillian.
  • Degenhardt Bell (played by Angus McLaren): A cadet who often looks after the frozen "cryons".
  • Mara Lomax (played by Eloise Mignon): A cadet medical officer who wants to be a leader.
  • Tycho Everson (played by Orpheus Pledger): The young son of Steve and Karen.
  • Pancha McCaskill (played by Sarah Walker): The cadet computer officer. She has a special brain implant that lets her connect with the ship's computers.
  • Doctor Lillian Reiss (played by Michelle Pettigrove): The Star Runner's main doctor and Leonella's mom.
  • Steve Everson (played by Teague Rook): The ship's engineer, husband to Karen, and father to Cinnamon and Tycho.
  • Karen Everson (played by Yesse Spence): The ship's astronomer and navigator, wife to Steve, and mother to Cinnamon and Tycho.
  • Commander Aaron 'Skipper' Cyriax (played by Jeremy Stanford): The commanding officer of the Star Runner.

Sometimes, Jeremy Stanford also plays a fake version of Cyriax (from an alien virus) and his clone, known as "C2" or "Will Power".

What Happens in Silversun?

The show follows the crew's adventures as they face many challenges on their long journey.

Season 1: New Discoveries and Dangers

The first season starts with the crew finding a cat that Tycho has been hiding. Then, Pancha discovers she has a special connection to the ship's computer after a software update. This helps her find problems the computer misses.

One big event is when Degenhardt secretly wakes up a teenage "cryon" named Zandie. This causes a lot of trouble because she wasn't supposed to wake up yet. Zandie struggles to fit in, and Degenhardt faces punishment for his actions. Eventually, he is allowed to stay on the crew.

The Star Runner then finds an unknown planet and gets pulled into a wormhole, sending them to a different time and place. They have to work together to get back to their own timeline. Later, a strange green blob attacks Commander Cyriax, making him act very differently and dangerously. The crew must find a way to save him without harming him. They eventually decide to send him back to Earth in an escape pod for treatment. But just as they do, they find a clone of Cyriax in one of the "cryon" pods!

Season 2: New Challenges and Mysteries

In the second season, the crew tries to use Cyriax's clone, named "C2" or "Will Power", to help the real Cyriax. Will Power becomes very smart, but he also causes some problems for the ship. He eventually decides to return to Earth.

The Star Runner crosses the "Andromeda Line," a point of no return where they can't go back to Earth for help. The crew faces new dangers like dark matter, which makes Mara and Cinnamon disappear temporarily. They also deal with a glowing rock that messes with the ship's navigation.

Relationships among the young crew members become more complicated. Pancha, the computer officer, gets very sick because of a pulsar star reacting with her brain. Zandie, who is very smart, helps save her.

Later, the ship gets hit by an asteroid and goes off course. The crew discovers a virus in the navigation system. They also find another ship, the Infinity, which looks just like theirs but is abandoned. They learn that a crew member named Julian Strega is still alive on the Infinity. It turns out Strega and Tane know each other from the past. The season ends with a big mystery about Strega's true intentions and a race against time to save the "cryons" on the Infinity.
