After Wesleyan, Simone White went to Harvard Law School. She earned a law degree in 1997. For seven years, she worked as a lawyer. Later, she decided to study writing and literature. She earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree from The New School. She also received a PhD in English from the CUNY Graduate Center.
