Sinikka Laine-Törmänen, born on October 17, 1945, is a Finnish writer. She is best known for her books written for young adults. Her very first book, Ohari, came out in 1982.
Sinikka Laine has received many awards for her writing. Her novel Tyttö tuulesta, poika pimeästä (1986) won a special Finnish state literature award.
Laine was born in Riihimäki, a town in Finland. Today, she lives and works in Oulu, another city in Finland. She is married to an artist named Veikko Törmänen.
