Exploring Sinking Springs Farms

The Manor House
The main house at Sinking Springs Farms is called the Manor House. It was built around 1900. It is a two-and-a-half-story building. Its style is called Colonial Revival. This style became popular in the early 1900s. The house was changed a bit between 1936 and 1941.
Different Farm Areas
The property also has four separate farmsteads. Each farmstead has its own unique history and buildings.
- Farmstead #1: This area has the oldest buildings on the property. Some of them were built around 1841.
- Farmstead #2: This farmstead has a house built around 1893. It was designed by a famous architect named John A. Dempwolf. The house is built in a style called Shingle Style. This style uses wooden shingles on the walls and roofs.
- Farmstead #3: This area has a three-and-a-half-story house. It was built around 1845. It is a traditional Pennsylvania German style home.
- Farmstead #4: This farmstead also has a three-and-a-half-story house built around 1845. It is designed in a Georgian-plan style.
The Old Radio Station
Sinking Springs Farms also has a special area called the Radio Broadcast Complex. This part of the farm includes a two-and-a-half-story brick office building. It also has four tall radio towers. This complex was used as a radio station for many years, from the 1940s until 1990.
