Sir Arthur Stewart Leslie Young (born October 10, 1889 – died August 14, 1950) was an important Scottish politician. He was a member of the Scottish Unionist Party. He helped make laws and represent people in the UK Parliament.

Early Life and Military Service

Arthur Young went to school at Fettes College. He also studied in other countries. When the First World War started, he joined the army. He served in a group called the Scottish Rifles. During his time in the army, he became a major.

Political Career and Public Service

Sir Arthur Young became a Member of Parliament (MP) in 1935. He represented the area of Glasgow Partick (UK Parliament constituency). He held this job until 1950. After that, he represented Glasgow Scotstoun (UK Parliament constituency) until he passed away.

He held several important roles in government. From 1937, he was a special assistant to a Scottish government minister. In 1941, he became the Scottish Unionist Whip. This meant he helped organize his party's MPs. He also worked as a Lord Commissioner of the Treasury from 1942 to 1944. From 1944 to 1945, he was the Vice-Chamberlain of His Majesty's Household. This was a role in the Royal Household.

In 1945, Sir Arthur Young was given a special honor. He was made a baronet on September 7, 1945. This is a title that can be passed down in a family.
