Sir Francis Blake (born around 1737 – died May 22, 1818) was an important person in Northumberland, England. He was a High Sheriff of Northumberland in 1784, which was like being the main law enforcement officer for the county back then. He also owned a lot of land and wrote books and papers about politics.

Sir Francis became the second Baronet of Twizell Castle when his father, Sir Francis Blake, 1st Baronet, of Twizell Castle, passed away in 1780. A baronet is a special title, like a knight, that can be passed down in a family.

Sir Francis Blake's Estates and Homes

Sir Francis inherited many large properties in Northumberland. These included Twizell Castle, Tillmouth House, Seghill, and Fowberry Tower. He sold Fowberry Tower in 1807. In 1788, he also bought a large piece of land, about 1,600 acres, in a place called Duddo. He paid £1,400 for it. Later, his son sold this same land for a much higher price, £45,000, in 1823.

His main home was first at Fowberry Tower, and later he moved to Tillmouth House.

In 1772, Sir Francis Blake married Elizabeth Douglas. She was from Broxbourne in Hertfordshire. Their oldest son, also named Francis, inherited his father's title and estates when Sir Francis passed away.
