Political Career

Sir John became the 3rd Baronet in 1644 after his father's death. At first, his family's lands were taken by the government, but they were given back to him in 1645.

In 1660, Sir John was chosen to be a Member of Parliament (MP) for Cornwall. An MP is someone who represents the people of an area in the government. He served in the Convention Parliament.
