Sir William Parsons, 2nd Baronet (born June 8, 1661 – died March 17, 1741) was an important Anglo-Irish politician. He lived a long life and played a role in the government of Ireland during his time.

Sir William Parsons was the son of Sir Laurence Parsons, 1st Baronet and Frances Savage. When his father passed away in 1698, William took over his father's special title, called a baronetcy. This title was passed down in their family.

A Life in Politics

Sir William Parsons was a Member of Parliament, which means he was chosen to represent people in the government. He worked in the Irish House of Commons, which was like a parliament or a big meeting place where laws were made for Ireland.

Representing King's County

Sir William represented an area called King's County. He was a Member of Parliament for many years. His first time serving was from 1692 to 1713. After a short break, he was elected again in 1715. He continued to serve as a Member of Parliament until he died in 1741.

Passing on the Title

After Sir William Parsons passed away, his special title of Baronet was passed on to his grandson. His grandson, named Laurence Parsons, became the 3rd Baronet in the family line.
