Amazing Art Career
Painting Murals
Sirron Norris started painting murals in 1999. He used them to show off his artwork. His very first mural is on the outside of a corner store at 20th and Bryant Street. Before he started painting murals, he worked on graphics for video games. He didn't have any special training in painting murals, but he learned quickly!
You can also find his murals inside buildings. For example, he painted murals in the emergency rooms for kids at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. The San Francisco Arts Commission and SPUR helped make this possible. In 2019, he was asked to paint a Mickey Mouse mural at the Walt Disney Family Museum.
Working on Bob's Burgers
Sirron Norris was the main artist for the first episode (the pilot) of Bob's Burgers. He designed all the backgrounds for the show. The buildings you see in the show were inspired by the homes around him in the Mission District. The creator of the show, Loren Bouchard, lived close by. He hired local artists, including Sirron Norris and the show's character designer Jay Howell, to work on the pilot. In 2016, Sirron Norris painted a mural of Bob and Linda Belcher from the show on the outside of his house. The homeowner later removed it in 2017 because of copyright rules.
Other Cool Art Projects
In 2012, Sirron Norris designed the poster for the San Francisco Public Library's Summer Read SF program.
In 2013, he worked with a health company called Basis. He helped design cool wristwatch bands for their activity trackers. In 2017, a company called Whistle Labs asked him to paint a mural outside the Dog Eared Books bookstore. This was part of a special campaign to help charity.
Sirron Norris also had his art featured in the 2018 collection of Hearts in San Francisco. This project raises money for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation.
