Early Life and Beginnings
Loren Bouchard was born in New York City, U.S. He grew up in Medford, Massachusetts.
Bouchard left high school early. In 1993, he was working as a bartender. He met his old teacher, Tom Snyder, who saw Bouchard's drawings. Snyder offered him a chance to work on some short animated films.
Career in Animation
These short films led to Bouchard's first TV series, Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist. He worked as a producer on this show. Dr. Katz was on TV for six seasons, from 1995 to 2000.
Creating Animated Shows
After Dr. Katz, Bouchard teamed up with Brendon Small. Together, they created Home Movies. This show first aired on UPN, then moved to Adult Swim. It ran for four seasons until 2004.
Later, Bouchard created Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil. The first episode came out in 2005. The show then started airing weekly on Adult Swim in 2007.

The Success of Bob's Burgers
In 2009, Bouchard worked with Jim Dauterive, a writer from King of the Hill. They developed Bob's Burgers. This animated series is about a family who runs a hamburger restaurant. Bouchard grew up in a working-class family. He wanted to show that kind of life on TV.
Bob's Burgers first aired in 2010. At first, reviews were mixed. But as the show continued, critics began to praise it. Many people see it as a show similar to King of the Hill. It focuses on funny characters and stories, not just shock humor.
A movie based on the TV series, The Bob's Burgers Movie, was released in 2022. Loren Bouchard directed this film, which was his first time directing a movie.
Personal Life
Loren Bouchard lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Holly Kretschmar. They got married on September 3, 2006. They have two sons.
