Alfonso "Sito" Pons Ezquerra, born on November 9, 1959, is a famous former motorcycle racer from Spain. He used to compete in the exciting world of Grand Prix motorcycle racing. Sito Pons is especially known for winning two world championships in a row in the 250cc category, first in 1988 and then again in 1989. He raced from 1981 to 1991.

After he stopped racing motorcycles, Sito Pons started his own racing team called Pons Racing. This team competed in MotoGP, which is the highest level of motorcycle racing. Later, he also had a team in car racing, called the World Series by Renault. His car racing team even won a championship in 2004 with driver Heikki Kovalainen. Sito Pons returned to motorcycle racing in 2010, where his team raced in the Moto2 championship. His son, Axel Pons, was one of the riders on his team.

In 1990, Sito Pons received a special award called the Prince of Asturias Award. This award is given to people who have achieved great things in sports.

About Sito Pons

Sito Pons has three sons: Axel, Edgar, and Lucas. Both Axel and Edgar have also become motorcycle racers, following in their father's footsteps.
