Sky Sport News HD is a TV channel in Germany and Austria. It's special because it's the only sports news channel that broadcasts all day, every day, for free! Sky Sport Deutschland owns it.
The channel shows sports news all the time. They update their news reports every 15 minutes. You can watch live shows from 9 AM until midnight. Three different teams of presenters work on the channel each day.
Sky Sport News HD first started broadcasting on December 1, 2011, at noon. The very first presenters on air were Kate Abdo and Thomas Fleischmann.
In 2016, Sky Deutschland announced that the channel would become free for everyone to watch. It would also be available to stream online in Germany. The first live free broadcast was a football match between Mainz and Bayern.
Now, the channel offers even more exciting content. Besides constant news, it also shows highlights from games, interesting documentaries, and special sports shows. The channel is only allowed to show 12 minutes of advertisements every hour.
In 2017, Sky changed the channel's broadcast hours. They reduced the live broadcast time by three hours, so it now broadcasts live for fifteen hours a day.
On March 12, 2017, Sky Sport News HD also began streaming its shows online. You can watch their programs directly on their website.
