Sean Michael Daley (born September 7, 1972) is an American rapper from Minneapolis, Minnesota, who is better known by his stage name, Slug. He is most famous for being one of the founding members of the hip-hop group Atmosphere.
Slug started Atmosphere with his friend Derek Turner, who was known as Spawn. After Turner left the group, Slug continued making music for Atmosphere with producer Anthony Davis, also known as Ant. In 1995, Slug and his friends started their own independent hip-hop record label called Rhymesayers Entertainment.

Early Life and Career
Sean Michael Daley was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has Irish, Norwegian, African-American, and Native American heritage. He got his nickname "Slug" from his father. His dad's friends called him "Sluggo," so they started calling Sean "little Sluggo." He later shortened it to just "Slug."
When the group Atmosphere first started, Slug was the DJ while his partner Spawn was the main rapper. Later, Slug began to focus more on rapping. He and producer Ant started working together, creating the unique sound that Atmosphere is known for. In the mid-1990s, Slug was part of a group of artists called the Headshots crew.

Slug is best known for his work in Atmosphere, but he has also been part of many other musical projects.
Atmosphere
With producer Ant, Slug has released many albums as Atmosphere. Their music often tells stories and explores deep feelings. They have become one of the most well-known groups in independent hip-hop.
Felt
Slug also formed a group called Felt with his friend and fellow rapper, MURS. The duo has released several albums together, each one a tribute to a different actress.
Other Projects
Slug has been a member of other groups like The Dynospectrum, where he used the name "Sep Se7en," and Deep Puddle Dynamics. He is also part of a group of artists called The Orphanage, which includes other famous rappers like Aesop Rock and Eyedea.
In 2005, Slug and MURS started a record label called Women Records. It was created to release albums by rock bands they were friends with.
Musical Style
Slug is known for his thoughtful and personal style of rapping. In his songs, he often explores his own life, feelings, and relationships. For example, in the song "Little Man," he talks about his relationship with his father and his son. This style of writing about his own experiences is called "introspective."
