Soon after, they opened a second restaurant. This new spot was in nearby Clayton, North Carolina. The business grew quickly. By 1979, they had expanded to Salter Path, North Carolina.

In the early 1980s, the company started opening more restaurants. These new locations were mostly in eastern North Carolina. People loved their chicken and barbecue.
