Sofia was born in Richmond, Virginia, on June 1, 2000. Her mom worked as an art director for movies and TV. Because of this, Sofia learned about making films when she was very young. In 2007, when she was seven, her family moved to New York City.

Sofia Hublitz first appeared on TV as a contestant. This was on the show MasterChef Junior in 2013. During one task, she got upset about a mistake. The famous chef Gordon Ramsay comforted her and helped her fix it.
