What Curtis' Goldenrod Looks Like

Curtis' goldenrod is a plant that comes back every year. It can grow quite tall, sometimes up to 100 centimeters (about 40 inches). It has a thick, woody part underground. This part helps the plant store energy.

Its stem is thin and strong. It often has a dark purple color. One plant can make many small yellow flowers. These flowers grow in little groups where the leaves meet the stem. A single plant can produce as many as 800 flower heads!
