Solveig Dommartin (born May 16, 1961 – died January 11, 2007) was a talented French actress. She was known for her roles in several interesting films.
She started her acting journey in theatre groups like Compagnie Timothee Laine. She also worked with the Theater Labor Warschau. Before becoming an actress, she gained experience in film. She worked as an assistant to director Jacques Rozier.

Working with Wim Wenders
Solveig Dommartin made her first movie appearance in Wings of Desire (1987). This film was directed by Wim Wenders. She and Wim Wenders were also in a relationship. For her role in Wings of Desire, she learned circus acrobatics. She trained for only eight weeks. She performed all her stunts herself, without needing a stunt double.
She also helped write the story for another film with Wim Wenders. This movie was called Until the End of the World (1991). They traveled all around the world together. They were looking for the best places to film scenes for the movie.
Wim Wenders once spoke about working on Until the End of the World. He said that he and Solveig wrote the story together. They felt they could only explore a person's dreams in the film if they put something very special from themselves into the work.

Solveig Dommartin had a daughter named Venus. She sadly passed away in Paris in 2007. She was 45 years old when she died from a heart attack.
