Sonia Silvestre facts for kids
Sonia Margarita Silvestre Ortiz (born August 16, 1952 – died April 19, 2014) was a famous Dominican singer and announcer. She was known for her powerful voice and popular songs.
Sonia Silvestre was born in San Pedro de Macorís, a city in the Dominican Republic. She became well-known for her music, with some of her most famous songs including "Esta Es Sonia Silvestre" (from 1974), "Yo Quiero Andar" (from 1990), and "Verde y Negro" (from 2007).
Sonia Silvestre passed away on April 19, 2014, in Santo Domingo. She was 61 years old. She became very sick after a stroke and heart problems.
