Becoming Miss Black America
In 1983, Sonya Robinson achieved a special honor. She was crowned Miss Black America. This national competition celebrates the achievements and talents of young Black women. Winning this title was a big moment in her life.
A Talented Musician
Sonya Robinson is a gifted violinist. In 1987, she released her first music album. It was called "Sonya" and came out on Columbia Records. A famous producer named Jean-Paul Bourelly helped create the album.
