Sonya Robinson grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She went to Nicolet High School there. Later, she studied at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
In 1983, Sonya achieved something special. She was crowned Miss Black America. This is a beauty pageant that celebrates the talents and achievements of young Black women.
