Sota Kasahara was born in Gunma Prefecture, Japan, on May 9, 1976. He loved playing football from a young age. After finishing his studies at the University of Tsukuba, he started his professional football career.
Starting Professional Football
In 1999, Sota joined a team called Otsuka Pharmaceutical. This team played in the Japan Football League. He played in 18 games during his time there.
Moving to J2 League
In 2000, Sota moved to a new team, Mito HollyHock. This team had just been promoted to the J2 League. The J2 League is one of the top professional football leagues in Japan. Sota quickly became a regular player for Mito HollyHock. He played in 30 matches and scored 3 goals that year.

Final Season
