The Southport Air Show is a super exciting event that happens every year in Southport, England. It started way back in 1991. This amazing show brings together all sorts of aircraft, from speedy jets to cool helicopters.

It takes place over two days, usually at the end of summer. Thousands of people come to watch the planes fly high above Southport and see special displays on Southport beach. It's the biggest air show in the North West of England!

What You Can See at the Show

The air show has a packed schedule of flying displays. You can see many different types of aircraft.

Amazing Aircraft Displays

  • Military and Civilian Planes: Watch powerful planes used by armies and everyday aircraft.
  • Classic Jets: See old but still impressive jet planes.
  • Helicopters: Enjoy the sight of helicopters performing cool moves.
  • Aerobatics: This means planes doing incredible tricks and stunts in the sky.
  • World-Famous Red Arrows: The Red Arrows are a famous team of pilots who fly in amazing formations. They are always a highlight!
  • Warbirds: These are old military aircraft from past wars, like World War II.
  • Parachute Displays: Watch brave people jump from planes and float down with parachutes.

Before the main air show starts, the Southport Model Aero Club often puts on a display. They fly awesome model aircraft that look just like the real ones!

Fun on the Ground

The air show isn't just about what's in the sky. There's lots to do on the ground too!
