How Sparksville Got Its Name
Sparksville was named after a person called Charles Weed Sparks. He is believed to have started the community's post office on August 11, 1884. A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail. The post office in Sparksville is no longer open today.
Charles Weed Sparks also helped start another nearby community. He gave his middle name to that place, which is now known as Weed.
