Spearsville is a small village in Union Parish, Louisiana, United States. In 2020, about 126 people lived there. This was a slight decrease from 137 people in 2010. Spearsville is part of the larger Monroe area.

History of Spearsville

We don't know much about how Spearsville first started. Many early records seem to be missing. People think it might have begun as a place where people traded goods.

The first clear record we have is from 1875. That's when the Spearsville Church of Christ was built. An old map from 1895 says there might have been a post office there since 1848. It also suggests the place was once called "Spears Store." We are not sure if these older claims are true.

Spearsville officially became a village in 1958.
