Spelaeoconcha paganettii is a very tiny air-breathing land snail. It is a type of mollusk that lives on land. This snail is special because it's the only species in its group, called a genus. Also, its genus is the only one in its family. This means it's quite unique!

Where Does This Snail Live?
This small snail can be found in parts of Europe. Its home includes countries like Croatia and Bosnia and Hercegovina.
What Does This Snail Look Like?
The shell of Spelaeoconcha paganettii is usually whitish or a light yellowish color. It feels very smooth and looks shiny.
Shell Features
The shell has about 7 whorls, which are the turns or spirals of the shell. These whorls are not very bumpy. The very last whorl rises up a little bit just before the opening.
The opening, called the aperture, does not have any teeth-like structures. The edge of the opening is thicker, except at the top. If you look at it from the side, the edge has a wavy shape.
Shell Size
The shell is quite small. Its width is about 2.5 to 2.6 millimeters. Its height is a bit more, around 5.4 to 6.1 millimeters. That's less than a quarter of an inch tall!
What Is the Snail's Habitat?
Scientists found this little snail living in a cave. It was found under piles of rocks and on dark, brownish soil. This tells us it likes damp, sheltered places.
