Splashdown Quaywest is the biggest outdoor water park in the United Kingdom! You can find it right on Goodrington Sands Beach, close to Paignton in Devon.
This fun park has 8 exciting water slides, special splash pools for younger kids, and a swimming pool. Besides all the water fun, there's also a beach shop, a yummy pizza and pasta restaurant called 'The View at Goodrington', and places to grab fast food, ice creams, and drinks.
A Splash Through Time
This water park first opened its doors in 1988. Back then, it was known as Quaywest. A company called Freetime Leisure Management ran it for 15 years.
Later, in September 2008, the park's management changed. Torbay Council gave the job of running the park to a new company called Lemur Leisure Ltd. This company also runs the Splashdown water park in Poole, Dorset.
The park then reopened in June 2009 with a new name: Splashdown@Quaywest. Today, it's simply known as Splashdown Quaywest!
