A Look Back at Spotlight 29 Casino's History
Spotlight 29 Casino first opened its doors in January 1995. This was possible because of a law called the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988. This law allows Native American tribes to operate places with games.
In March 2001, the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians worked with Donald Trump. The casino then became known as Trump 29 Casino. It officially opened under this new name on April 2, 2002.
By 2006, the partnership with Donald Trump ended. The casino went back to its original name, Spotlight 29 Casino. After this, many updates were made to the building. They added a large parking area for 1,200 cars. The casino also grew by nearly 150,000 square feet. This made the total size about 250,000 square feet. The updates created more space for games, offices, and events. There was also more room for dining and entertainment.
