Spring Garden got its name from a very special garden! An early settler in the area was famous for having a beautiful, lush garden every spring. People started calling the community "Spring Garden" because of it. A post office has been open in Spring Garden since 1844, helping people send and receive mail for a very long time.

The school is also well-known for its sports teams! The girls' basketball team has won the state championship seven times. They won in 1987, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2016, 2020, and 2023. The girls' volleyball team also won a state championship in 2007. Both teams have often made it to the state playoffs.
