Sreekumari Ramachandran is a talented writer, speaker, dancer, and singer from Kerala, India. She writes mostly in the Malayalam language. She is well-known for her novels and short stories.

About Sreekumari Ramachandran
Sreekumari was born and grew up in Cochin. She studied Economics at university. She also has a special degree called Visharad in the Hindi language. From a young age, she learned Karnatic music and dance.
She started winning awards early! In 1960, when she was just 10 years old, she won first prize for folk dance. This was at the Kerala State School Youth Festival. In 1962, she won first prize again, this time for Bharatanatyam. Two years later, in 1964, she won first prize for Music. In 1966, she received the Ramankutty Menon Gold Medal for Karnatic Music. This was from Maharaja's College Ernakulam.
After getting married to Adv. C. Ramachandra Menon, she focused on her home for about twenty years. She began writing in 1988. By 1992, she was chosen to perform on All India Radio. She later became a "B High grade" artist in music. Since then, she has performed Sugam Sangeet and Bhakthi Sangeeth on A.I.R Trichur and Doordarshan Trivandrum.
Sreekumari is also a leader in the arts. She founded the Indian Society of Authors (Kerala Chapter). She is also the President of Toon Arts India in New Delhi. From 2002 to 2005, she was a member of the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy. She has also helped choose winners for important film awards. These include the Kerala State Film Award Committee and the Filmfare Awards Committee.
