St. Andrew's Community Hospital (SACH) is a special kind of hospital in Singapore. It is a non-profit hospital, which means it doesn't aim to make money. SACH helps people get better after they have been sick or had surgery. It focuses on helping patients get back on their feet.

About St. Andrew's Community Hospital
SACH first opened its doors in 1992. It is part of a bigger group called St. Andrew's Mission Hospital. The hospital's main job is to provide what's called intermediate medical care. This means they help patients who are stable but still need medical attention.
Helping Patients Recover
The hospital mostly focuses on two things:
- Rehabilitation: This is when patients work to regain skills. For example, they might learn to walk or use their hands again after an injury.
- Sub-acute care: This is medical care for patients who are getting better. They no longer need intensive care but still need doctors and nurses to look after them.
Working with Other Hospitals
Since 2005, SACH has worked closely with Changi General Hospital (CGH). SACH is located right next to CGH. Patients who need to recover after treatment at CGH often move to SACH. This helps them continue their medical care and rehabilitation smoothly.
Sharing Resources
SACH and CGH share important things. They share medical records, so doctors know a patient's full history. They also share clinical support services. Sometimes, specialists from CGH visit SACH to help patients there.
Joining Forces for Better Care
In 2011, SACH became part of something new called the Eastern Health Alliance. This group was formed to help hospitals and care centers work together. The idea was to provide integrated care. This means patients get care that is connected and continuous, rather than just getting treatment for one problem at a time.
A Bigger Family
Other groups in the Eastern Health Alliance included Changi General Hospital, SingHealth Polyclinics, and The Salvation Army Peacehaven Nursing Home. Later, in January 2018, SACH and the Eastern Health Alliance joined with SingHealth. This was part of a plan to make public healthcare in Singapore even better.
