A Historic Building: The Old Fire Hall
The museum is located at 600 St. Mary's Road. It is in a two-story building that used to be a fire hall. This fire hall was built way back in 1914. What Can You See at the Museum?
One of the most exciting things to see is a real fire truck from 1939! The museum also has many other interesting exhibits. You can learn about the first people who settled in the area. There are displays about Métis history too.
The museum also covers military history. You can learn about the big 1950 Red River Flood. This flood greatly affected the area. There are also exhibits about local musicians. The famous Winnipeg rock band The Guess Who gave the museum many master tapes and videos in 2018. These show their long history in music. You can also see a large collection of dolls. These dolls were given by people who live in the area.
