St Faith's Church, Cowes is a special church building located in Cowes, on the Isle of Wight in England. It is part of the Church of England. For many years, it served the local community.
In 2013, the church's future changed. The Diocese of Portsmouth decided to close the church for regular services. St Faith's then joined with other nearby churches. Today, it is part of the parish of All Saints, Gurnard, with St Faith, Cowes. This means that regular Church of England services are no longer held inside the building.
The Story of St Faith's Church
The church building was finished in 1909. A famous architect named J. Standen Adkins designed it.
A very important person, Princess Beatrice, helped start the building process. She placed the first stone, called the foundation stone, on May 13, 1909. This was a big event for the community.
The church also has a pipe organ. You can find details about this organ on the National Pipe Organ Register website.
