Standing Pine is in the southeastern part of Leake County. It is about 8 miles (13 km) southeast of Carthage, which is the main town of the county.
The community covers an area of about 3.5 square miles (9.1 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with only a small amount of water. Standing Pine is built on low hills. Water from these hills flows into Standing Pine Creek and Pottock Creek. Both of these creeks eventually flow into the Pearl River.
