Stanisław Kania (born 8 March 1927 – died 3 March 2020) was a Polish politician. He was a member of the communist party that led Poland for many years.
He became the leader of the Polish United Workers' Party in September 1980. This was a very important job, similar to being the main leader of the country. He held this position until October 1981. After him, Gen. Wojciech Jaruzelski took over.
Stanisław Kania passed away on 3 March 2020. He was almost 93 years old. He died from health issues like pneumonia and heart failure.
