Staves is a small community located in Cleveland County, Arkansas, in the United States. It is known as a "census-designated place." Staves was once called the "Y" Community by local residents. This was because State Route 212 formed a "Y" shape where it met State Route 35. There were roads connecting north and south from State Route 212's east-west path. The roads have since been changed. Now, a new road connects State Route 212 to State Route 35 at a 90-degree angle.
