Stayce D. Harris, born in 1959, is a retired United States Air Force officer. She reached the rank of Lieutenant General, which is a very high position. Her last job was the Inspector General of the Air Force, making sure everything in the Air Force was done correctly.
Before that, she was the Assistant Vice Chief of Staff for the Air Force. This means she helped lead the entire Air Force. She also worked with military representatives from other countries.
A really important fact about Lieutenant General Harris is that she was the first African-American woman to become a three-star general in the U.S. Air Force. She was also the first Air Force Reservist to reach this high rank, except for the commander of the Air Force Reserve Command.

Her Journey in the Air Force
Stayce Harris started her Air Force career in 1981. She joined through a program called Air Force ROTC at the University of Southern California. She served on active duty until 1991. After that, she joined the Air Force Reserve.
In the Air Force Reserve, she took on many important roles. She led different groups, including the 459th Air Refueling Wing, the 494th Air Expeditionary Group, and the 729th Airlift Squadron. These groups fly planes for different missions.
Lieutenant General Harris is a Command Pilot. This means she is a highly skilled pilot who can lead flight missions. She has flown more than 2,500 hours in military aircraft. Some of the planes she flew include the C-130H, KC-135R, C-141B/C, T-38, and T-37.
