Pierre Pairault worked as a dental surgeon, which is a type of dentist who performs operations on teeth and jaws. But his true love was writing science fiction stories. His books often showed how much he knew about science. He stopped working as a dental surgeon in 1989. Even after retiring, he stayed involved in the world of French science fiction.
His Books and Movies
Stefan Wul wrote many books. He published eleven novels between 1956 and 1959. He wrote one more book in 1977. One of his books, Le Temple du Passé (which means The Temple of the Past), was published in 1957. It was later translated into English in 1973.
Stefan Wul became well-known outside of France because of two animated movies. These movies were based on his novels and made by a filmmaker named René Laloux. One of his books, Oms en série, was made into a movie in 1973. This movie is famous as Fantastic Planet. The book itself was translated into English in 2010.
