Stennett is a small, quiet place in Montgomery County, Iowa, United States. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and buildings, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Stennett is found where two county roads, H20 and M55, meet. It is about 5.7 miles (9.2 km) north-northeast of a bigger town called Red Oak.

The Story of Stennett

Stennett began its journey in the year 1880. This was a time when railroads were super important for moving goods and people across the country. A special railroad switch was built through this area. This switch helped trains reach a place nearby called the Stennett stone quarry. A quarry is where rocks and stones are dug out of the ground.

Growing Pains: Stennett's Population

Over the years, more people started to live in Stennett. In 1902, there were 28 people living there. By 1925, the number of residents had grown to 95. This shows how the community slowly became a home for more families.
