Stephen Kinsey (born December 15, 1958) is an American politician. He was a member of the Democratic Party. He served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2013 to 2024. This is a group of people who make laws for the state of Pennsylvania.
Before he became a representative, Kinsey worked for the person who held the job before him, John Myers. Kinsey was also the leader of the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus from 2019 to 2020. This group works to make sure laws help all people in Pennsylvania.
Early Life and Education
Stephen Kinsey grew up in Philadelphia. He went to Germantown High School. He graduated from high school in 1976.
He continued his education at West Chester University. In 1981, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Later, in 2002, he received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Eastern University.
Serving the Community
Kinsey represented the 201st House District. This district is located in Philadelphia. It includes several neighborhoods like Germantown, Mt. Airy, West Oak Lane, and Ogontz.
During his time in the House, he worked on important committees. These committees help decide on laws related to different topics. He served on committees for Appropriations, Health, Human Services, and Transportation.
Stephen Kinsey resigned from the Pennsylvania House in July 2024.
