Steven Aaron Golin (born March 6, 1955 – died April 21, 2019) was an American film and TV producer. He was the person who started and led Anonymous Content LLP. This company creates movies, TV shows, and manages actors and directors. He also helped start Propaganda Films. Steve Golin went to the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. He later won an Oscar for Best Picture in 2016 for the movie Spotlight.

Starting Propaganda Films

In 1986, Steve Golin and his friend Joni Sighvatsson started a company called Propaganda Films. This company helped manage talented people and made music videos and commercials. Propaganda Films quickly became the biggest company for music videos and commercials in the world. They won many awards, including MTV Video Awards.

Propaganda Films was known for finding new, talented directors. For example, they discovered David Fincher, who later directed many famous movies. They also hired Michael Bay after seeing his early work. Other directors like Spike Jonze, Antoine Fuqua, and Gore Verbinski also started their careers at Propaganda Films. Golin and Sighvatsson later sold the company.

Creating Anonymous Content

In 2000, Steve Golin started his next company, Anonymous Content. This company is in Culver City, California. Anonymous Content also became very successful. Its commercial team made ads for big brands like Audi, Coca-Cola, and Nike.

The company also made music videos for popular bands. Anonymous Content's management team grew to represent many writers, directors, and actors. Steve Golin also worked with David Fincher again on a series of online car commercials for BMW called "The Hire."

Steve Golin produced many well-known movies and TV shows through both Propaganda Films and Anonymous Content. Some of these include The Game (1997), Being John Malkovich (1999), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), and Babel (2006). He also produced popular TV series like True Detective (2014) and Mr. Robot (2015).

Golin was nominated for the Best Picture Oscar three times. He was nominated for Babel, The Revenant, and Spotlight. He won the Oscar for Best Picture for Spotlight.

Steve Golin's Life

Steve Golin had two children, Ari and Anna. He was a Jewish man and had survived cancer before. Sadly, Steve Golin passed away on April 21, 2019, at 64 years old. He died from a type of cancer called Ewing's sarcoma.
